E3 Regional Plans
There are 18 regions that formed and contributed to the E3 state plan. Two of these combined and two split up into smaller regions and by the time of the E3 launch 17 regions are in place including:
- Benton-Franklin Counties
- Central Eastern WA
- Island and Snohomish Counties
- King County
- Kitsap County
- Kittitas County
- North Central WA
- Northeastern WA
- Northwestern WA
- Olympia Peninsula
- Pierce County
- Southeastern WA
- Southwestern Washington
- Spokane County
- Thurston/Mason Counties
- Walla Walla County
- Yakima County
Each region convened a series of steering committee meetings in order to coordinate an inclusive regional E3 summit. At each summit with 30-250 people each, a broad-base of regional leaders from the education, business, tribal, civic, faith-based and governmental communities contributed to regional visions, assessments and goal and strategy statements. Information from the E3 sectors was provided at each regional summit.
Following their summit gatherings, regional leaders compiled pages and pages of input from the all-day meetings and utilized this to complete their regional plans.
Regional E3 plans can be found by going to the E3 Regions in the Network Directory and selecting the region/s of interest. There you will find the plan listed under “Region Resources” along with updates about regional leaders, events and accomplishments.
Because the E3 plan is a “living plan”, regional plans informed the state E3 plan and the state goals, in turn, have provided a framework for some of the regions as they have worked to complete and implement their plan. This iterative exchange is the hallmark of the E3 process and will continue through phases of implementation, tracking, measurement, adaptive management and plan revisions until a System of Education for Sustainable Communities is achieved.
