What is this course?
The research expedition will hike and camp through the Olympic Wilderness, over the Low Divide and down the Elwha River, retracing (in reverse) the route of the Seattle Press Expedition of 1889-90, the first European crossing of the Olympic Mountains.

Students will be designing and conducting their own scientific research project in the National Park under the guidance of our experienced educators and meeting with National Park Service research scientists.

The program concludes as students present the results of their research at a symposium at our Lake Crescent campus, attended by National Park rangers and scientists, interested community members, and families of participants.

Youth entering 10-12th grade (or recent high school graduates)

When is this happening?
July 20 - Aug 1, 2014

How much does it cost?
Course tuition is $1970, generous scholarships are available
