Description: Get hands-on lessons that challenge students to apply science to everyday choices that affect personal and environmental health. Classroom activities connect with Pollutions and Solutions, Biology, Chemistry in the Community, Family and Consumer Science, Career and Technical Education, and more.


-        Training in teaching STEM principles through the lens of hazardous household chemicals
-        A tour of the 21 Acres Center for Local Food and Sustainable Living
-        PSESD clock hours for a small fee
-        An organic lunch of locally grown ingredients

-        A Hazards on the Homefront teacher guide with ready-to-use lesson plans and materials
-        Sample green cleaning products

-        A $50 stipend for King County certified teachers for completion of workshop objectives
-        Grants of up to $500 for community service, action projects, and school gardens
-        Free follow-up classroom presentation
