Effects on environmental and personal health

Become familiar with hands-on lessons that engage students in designing and conducting science investigations.  Specific topics include water quality, bioaccumulation, and safer choices.

-        Training in teaching STEM principles through the lens of hazardous household chemicals
-        A tour of the 21 Acres Center for Local Food and Sustainable Living
-        PSESD clock hours for a small fee
-        An organic lunch of locally grown ingredients

-        A Hazards on the Homefront teacher guide with ready-to-use lesson plans and materials
-        Sample green cleaning products

-        A $50 stipend for completion of workshop objectives
-        Grants of up to $500 for community service, action projects, and school gardens
-        Free follow-up classroom presentation
