The introduction of non-native plant species that become invasive is an all too common problem in our times.  Invasive plants can overrun both city parks and our State and Federal wildlands displacing native plant species and altering ecosystems.  To the rescue is a citizen science program for the Early Detection and Rapid Response (EDDR) to invasive plant species.  The program is run by the non-profit Pacific Northwest Invasive Plant Council (PNW-IPC).

Dr. Julie Combs, an expert in the ecology and management of invasive plants and its program director, will discuss the PNW-IPC Citizen Science Program and the incredible difference EDDR volunteers are making to document and control invasive plants on public lands.
