Dear environmental and sustainability education colleagues and friends:

The Seattle Foundation is generously sponsoring giveBig again this year on May 3, 2016. The Foundation has created a pool of funds to give to nonprofits that receive donations as part of the giveBig campaign. This day of online giving will greatly benefit nonprofit organizations throughout our region, including E3 Washington. On May 3, donations made to E3 Washington through the Seattle Foundation’s online giving center will be matched. This year donations can be made from April 18 through May 3. Donations made by credit or debit card before midnight on May 3 will count.

E3 Washington is on the move! Formerly the Environmental Education Association of Washington, E3 just celebrated its 25-year anniversary. During the past few years E3 Washington has supported environmental and sustainability education in our state through the following:

  • The Educator to Educator program (E2E) that brings teachers and informal educators together to support “on-the-ground” environmental learning for students;
  • A Collaborative partnership in the Puyallup watershed with the Russell Family foundation and other agencies; An awards night for teachers, students, and others in conjunction with EPA and other partners;
  • The E3 Washington website that hosts projects, job announcements, and events statewide;
  • Research and evaluation conducted by Curriculum for the Bio-region on education and sustainability practices on 47 college and university campuses in the state;
  • Co-sponsoring an Action Summit on environmental education with Islandwood, REI, Boeing, Naturebridge, North Cascades Institute, and Seattle University on Bainbridge Island in February, 2016;

  • Please mark Tuesday May 3, 2016 on your calendar with a giveBig X; and go to this link to make your contribution, between now and May 3 Seattle Foundation-GiveBIG.
