Wilderness Awareness School-Summer Camp Volunteers

3/21/2012

Job Description

Summer Camp Volunteer Opportunities

This summer, explore nature connection in a week that you will cherish forever…

Join us for a fun-filled week (or more!) volunteering in Summer Camps in beautiful local parks in Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, Carnation and Duvall. Last year, Wilderness Awareness School was voted as best daycamp, best nature daycamp and best overnight camp by parenting authority ParentMap. Many of our campers return year after year, deepening their connection to nature and themselves. Mud-smeared faces, sneaking, imitating animals, learning about plants, telling stories and exploring the mysteries of bird language, animal tracks and slug trails, are all a part of a typical day at one of our camps.

We believe a vibrant connection with nature is essential to balance our high-tech lives, and to foster health, growth and wellbeing. As an Assistant Instructor, you’ll enjoy a full day of pre-camp training, enhancing your own knowledge and experience. Together we’ll explore how to playfully engage the sense of wonder and curiosity of nature (even in city environments) that is innate in all of us. Camps are tailored according to age and specific group needs. Volunteers must be 13 or older.

Summer Camp Volunteer Application

We welcome your support, skills and enthusiasm as we continue to grow and expand our Summer Camp programs — connecting even more kids with nature. We look forward to partnering with you for a week or more this summer!
