2023 Invasive Snail and Slug Virtual Workshop

The Washington Invasive Species Council is very excited to announce that registration for the 2023 Invasive Snail and Slug Virtual Workshop is open. This event will be held on April 27, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to take a deep dive into the world of mollusks!

The workshop is hosted by the Washington Invasive Species Council and is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (USDA APHIS) Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ). Washington State University is providing technical and logistical support.

We are fortunate to have speakers from USDA APHIS National Identification Services, USDA APHIS PPQ Montana Office, USDA APHIS PPQ Washington and Alaska Office, State of Florida, Oregon State University, and the Montana Invasive Species Council. These experts will teach you about pathways of introduction, risks, impacts, and identification. You will leave the workshop with a thorough understanding of invasive mollusks that are already in the Pacific Northwest as well as those that are on the horizon. This workshop is open to a national audience as these pests are an issue across the country and everyone has a role to play in prevention.

Pesticide recertification credits are anticipated from Washington State Department of Agriculture. View the agenda and register now at https://2023-04-27-invasive-snail.rsvpify.com.
