Description: The Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA) is seeking passionate and dedicated people to support spawner survey monitoring between September 2026 and March 2027. Monitoring Interns will be accompanied by NSEA staff and support thorough weekly surveying of salmon in creeks in Bellingham by walking through 2-3 miles of creek and visually looking for salmon and redds and collecting and recording data. This position provides opportunities to build up professional skills such as field work, data collection, and communication to benefit future career pursuits. The dates of this position are August 25 – March 31, one day per week between Monday and Friday. Priority given to those consistently available on Tuesdays. Weekly schedule will be one 7 10-hour shift depending on the length of the survey. The weekly survey may be rescheduled due to weather or other conflicts. When possible, the survey will be rescheduled for a day the intern is available, however hours are not guaranteed if a reschedule must be set for when the intern is not available.
