Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) AmeriCorps promotes healthy, active, and environmentally aware communities by enhancing park land, enriching educational opportunities, increasing volunteerism, and improving community outreach. The member positions provide opportunities to build connections within the Montana outdoor recreation and education communities and serve under The Big Sky.

Environmental Education Instructor

NSEA Stream Steward Internship

The Stream Stewards Internship position includes opportunities to learn about, experience, and actively participate in the different facets of NSEA’s work based on individual interests and availability. The primary role of this quarterly position is to lead volunteers in restoration and stewardship activities at community work parties on Saturdays. Interns will support volunteer events in different capacities such as shuttle driving, leading small groups, and supporting educational components like macroinvertebrate identifying while working collaboratively with the team. These community work parties are held throughout Whatcom County, where volunteers join NSEA to plant native species, remove invasive species, and more.

Industrial Wastewater Permit Manager

In this position, you will help protect and restore Puget Sound water quality. You will develop and oversee the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and State Waste Discharge permits to ensure that wastewater from industrial and commercial activities is managed to protect and restore water quality. You will work with engineers, environmental specialists, hydrogeologists, and scientists within the Ecology Water Quality Program, as well as other Ecology programs and agencies.

Field Program Coordinator

This position coordinates educational programs in the field in the North Cascades Bioregion and occasionally at the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center. The Field Programs Coordinator provides leadership for Institute programs, oversees contract instructors, and offers instructional support as necessary. The Coordinator is part of the Adult & Family Programs department, and specifically works to support: Adult Seminars, Field Courses, and Virtual Courses. Field programs is a growth area for the Institute, and the right candidate will be ready to grow with the position.

Co-Lead Teacher Position at Fiddleheads Forest School

Organization: Fiddleheads Forest School at UW Arboretum

Job Type: Full-time/Part-time, permanent

Location: Seattle, WA

Salary: $4,200-$5,000 (.85 prorate to $3,570-$4,250)

This position will serve as the Lead Teacher in the new full day classroom in the Fiddleheads Forest School, an entirely outdoor, nature-based preschool program serving 60-80 students and families in the Washington Park Arboretum. This position will report directly to the Fiddleheads Head of School.
