Facilities Assistant

The Water Resources Education Center at the City of Vancouver, Washington is looking for a Facilities Assistant to support room rentals, front desk operations, and indoor and outdoor exhibits.  The ideal candidate has experience delivering excellent customer service, supporting facility and exhibit maintenance (including aquarium care and groundskeeping), coordinating room rentals, and sharing information with the public. Candidates should be flexible, willing to work as part of a team, an effective communicator, and excited about working in an education center serving all members of our community.  

The typical work schedule for this position is Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.  The Facilities Assistant is expected to assume a flexible schedule, as needed, to support building operations, rentals, education programs and activities.

Instructors at Nature-Based Day Camp

Camp Wa-Ya, a nature-based program in Olympia, Washington, is hiring Day Camp Instructors. We also offer an Indigenous Fellowship for a person connected to the Indigenous community to develop leadership and outdoor instructor skills. Summer staff are needed from June 15th until August 29th and work 40 hours/week Monday-Friday. Positions:

Camp Coordinator - $20.76 - $24.96 per hour

This position is responsible for coordinating daily camp operations and logistics and improving customer experience. Work includes a variety of program support activities, including preparing program marketing and education materials, monitoring participation, maintaining records, preparing reports, and assisting with program operations and extended care.

Camp Supervisor - $21.49 - $30.09 per hour

This position supervises, coaches, and supports a team of camp instructors who present programs, experiences, and activities for the zoo’s camp programs for youth. There is a supervisor for each camp age group (5-6), (7-9) and (10-13).

Camp Inclusion Specialist - $20.76 - $24.96 per hour 

Reporting to the Children’s Programs Manager, the Camp Inclusion Specialist will play an important role in the facilitation and leadership of Woodland Park Zoo’s summer camp, ensuring inclusion of all individuals that participate in camp programs. With the Manager, the Camp Inclusion Specialist will help train and support Camp Instructors on inclusion practices and resources and modify existing camp programs to ensure quality participation by all. This position works with campers ages 5-13. This is a seasonal position from June through early September.

Camp Instructor -  $20.76 -  $21.74 per hour

This position is responsible for the presentation of programs, experiences, and activities for the zoo’s camp programs for youth ages (5-6), (7-9) and (10-13).
