Forest Pest Readiness Summit

  • E3 Washington ℅ PEI 724 Columbia St NW # 255 Olympia, WA 98501 United States (map)

The Washington Invasive Species Council and the Washington Department of Natural Resources invite you to their free upcoming Urban Forest Pest Readiness Summit on July 29th, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Puyallup Research and Extension Center - 2606 W Pioneer Ave, Puyallup, WA 98371. Coffee and lunch will be served. Please include any dietary restrictions in your registration. This is an in-person event only.

Continuing education credits from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and pesticide recertification credits from the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) are being requested.

This summit builds on workshops that were held across the state over the past year. The ultimate goal is to assist communities in assessing pest readiness, documentation, and planning a path forward to becoming more prepared. The summit will have speakers from across the country and will cover the impacts of urban forest pests, urban wood reuse, and updates on local pests of concern. The State of Washington Urban Forest Pest Readiness Playbook will be presented as a tool for municipalities, and a sample readiness plan will be introduced. The event will conclude with an outdoor portion to view demonstrations on the extension center property.
